Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Duration: 6–12 Months
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to provide direct patient care and medication support services within a correctional healthcare setting. The CMA will work under the supervision of nursing and medical staff to ensure quality patient care and maintain a safe clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and provide basic patient care under nursing supervision.
- Take and record vital signs, observations, and patient information.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene needs.
- Obtain lab specimens and assist with follow-up care activities.
- Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
- Order, receive, and stock medical supplies as needed.
- Schedule appointments and perform basic clerical duties.
- Support healthcare outreach and patient tracking activities.
Requirements:
- Current Oklahoma Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Certification in good standing.
- Minimum 1 year of patient care experience.
- Knowledge of basic nursing practices, medical terminology, and patient care procedures.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work effectively within a healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Oklahoma certification for Glucose Monitoring and Insulin Administration.
- Experience in correctional healthcare, long-term care, or clinical settings preferred.
